Finally have the time to write! I had been on the edge since today is my report day for my own experiments (I am juggling two experiments at the same time, and lately I’ve been focused on the algae group project so I didn’t have much time for my own experiments, which is ion exchange). Oh well, I was so nervous, easily irritated, and couldn’t sleep (particularly because I am accumulating caffeine *LOL).

Kaohsiung Trip: Departure and Preparing for Beach!
I and 3 friends (Niken, Dessy, and Lisa) planned to go to south in the Chinese New Year 2010 break. Since we go to the same church and we happen to know a priest living in Kaohsiung, we looked for the chance to visit him and surely the city.
It was Father Murjiyono, CM, who was soooo kindly welcome us to visit him in St. Vincentius church, and allowed us to stay there for 3 days. So we bought TRA ticket for Sunday (Feb 14) and planned to go back to Taipei using HSR on Wednesday night (Feb 17). I really wanted to go somewhere by HSR. Finally. LOL.
Anyway, none of us having any experience using TRA trains, and since we all know how complicated Taipei Main Station (TMS) can be (believe me, you can get lost there), so we decided to went there earlier. The train was scheduled to take off at 18.10. We got off campus at 3 PM. Soooo early. Hahaha. And yes, just needed half an hour to reach the waiting point, so we had to wait for 2 hours before the train departed. Got some pics ^^.
The TRA costed us 850 NTD each (likely to be IDR 250.000), which was pretty expensive, considering the 350-km distance would be the same as Surabaya-Solo (where I went home), and in Indonesia it costs IDR 80.000. The train is basically the same as the executive class of Indonesian trains. This one’s cleaner though. As expected.

Okay the journey took 5 hours, and I guess I fell to sleep *hahaha. I brought my eeepc with me, because Father Murji said there is WiFi in the church so we can use it *yaaaaayyyy so happy :). I was sleeping, while Lisa and Niken watched The Blind Side *pretty good and touching movie.
“Ladies and gentlemen, here we are at Kaohsiung Station, the terminal station..” The voice over the speaker told us that we were finally arrived in Kaohsiung. Based on my experience taking trains in Indonesia many times, I never expected that the train will arrive on time. And hell, here it arrived at exactly 11.01 pm, as in the ticket. Gosh. Wondering when Indonesia can do the same thing!
Father Murji picked we up in the Kaohsiung Main Station with his car. So we directly headed to the church, the place we were going to stay for 3 days. Well, it was nice. Father Murji was so so so kind (again), that he prepared the church first floor pavilion for us to sleep. Happyyyy~~~~
There was an important conversation while we’re in the car. Father Murji asked what places we want to visit in Kaohsiung, and we ended up mentioning just Cijin Island and Love River. Then he said, what about Kenting National Park? And there we were, four girls in the car, shouting at the same time: mauuuuuuuu (translation: sure we want!!!! *with blinking eyes hahaha). Kenting National Park is not the part of Kaohsiung anyway, so Father Murji said we had to go very early so we wouldn’t encounter traffic jam. Yihaaaaa. Unexpected eh? :D
That night practically we did nothing than just a simple chat and the went to bed. There are two rooms there. Nice and warm (oh yeah, Kaohsiung is a lot warmer than Taipei!). There’s my bed.
The following day (Monday), we had breakfast (bread and accessories) then got ready for Kenting. We brought several snacks and drinks, because it would take about 1-2 hours drive there. Okay, another pic. I have told you that we summed up over 1500 photos for this trip. Now you know why we can do that. We basically took picture anywhere anytime. ROFL.
We were ready to go. Got some pics in the car (time for Niken the photographer to be in the photos! ^^). The two girls are Dessy and Lisa.
