Finally I watched it. And I am very sorry to say, I am disappointed. Well, it was a good movie, but the significant cuts of the plot makes it a bit tasteless. For the one who does not read the book I do not know, but since I know every detail of the story, I would say, it is like a different story.
Point number 1, I regard to the fact that Leonardo Vetra isn’t take into account on the movie. I think this character is important, since it is based on his work, he who is both a priest and a scientist, the conflict begun. Antimatter, not a very warm issue, the question of whether we can define or invent ‘it’ or not, has become speculation over times since the duality theory existed. If there is dark, there is bright. If there is matter, there must be antimatter. Some would say that the existence of God is due to the reason there must be something or someone who create the universe. In my point, the big-speculation-thing should make Leonardo Vetra essential in this movie. But, he wasn’t, probaly to correct the inaccuracy of antimatter energy speculation? Talking about a dissapearance of character, Max Kohler also wasn’t figured in this movie. The part in which Captain Rocher finally revealed the truth [in the movie], well, he supposed to be told by Max Kohler.
Point number 2, Langdon’s involvement in the conspiracy threatening Vatican city went through different way. On the novel, Langdon was called by Max Kohler, the director of institution in which Leonardo Vetra worked. There is a bit story of that, and some scenes, but well, just one appeared in the movie. It is just like the science part of the book is wiped off from the movie [I kind of like that part actually].
Point number 3, the Illuminati diamond was missing!!!! Where is it??? The last brand of the five Illuminati’s brand should be the diamond, depict all the four elements in one ambigram. Instead of showing that, the movie used two key cross each other. Cannot understand why.
Point number 4, always and always, we couldn’t expect all the stories in the book will present in the movie. Anyway, in some points I would say it is fine, but somehow if you do not read the book, you will get confused while watching the movie. I particularly bold the ‘very quick’ thoughts obtained by Langdon when searching for Illuminati’s pathway, how he jumped into conclusion that the pathway will be on Diagramma Della Verita, how he associated four elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water with Chigi Chapel, St. Peter square, St. Maria della Vittoria church, and Piazza Navona.
I want to write more, but I get my migrain again, so let us continue later
See you.
